Heart surgery

So my heart surgery in scheduled for the 23 of December. Yes that means we would be traveling home on Christmas eve. ARRRRR my holy heart!!! I don't know if I am going to have it that day or just wait until next year to have it. I hate being a grown up and making decisions. I would love to have it in December and have it go on this years insurance stuff but I don't know if I want to have it that close to Christmas and that is the only day left before the new year.

My other thought was that we could try and find a place in Park city to spend Christmas and then maybe the boys could all come down for a few hours. But I don't think we have enough money to rent a place in Park city for Christmas. What to do? what to do?

Happy Birthday Uncle Arby

Over the weekend my mom and her sisters threw a my uncle Arby a surprise birthday party. They were ever so sneaky we had Thanksgiving dinner earlier in the day with about 75 people attending. Then the boys took Arby to watch the Utah/BYU foot ball game. We told him we would be playing card around seven so to come back then.
Arby likes to dance he rarely misses a dance in Piute county. So the sisters hired Tony Torgerson's band (they know the Gleave bunch and play all the songs we love) I am guessing there was about 150 people who love uncle Arb. More would have came but the sisters wanted it to be a secret so they didn't tell to many people.
The best part was that Arby had no Idea. Even when the whole parking lot was full of cars and the bands truck and trailer were parked next to them when he pulled in. It was so much fun. We love our uncle Arby and are so happy he was born.
Some day I will dare to up load my pictures with out the fear of my computer crashing. When I do I will post some pic's.

Shaving Cream

The other night I was trying to clean my kitchen so I cleaned off the small table and let the girls play in shaving cream. It went great for a few minuets and I did get half the dish washer loaded. Then Dev started to eat the shaving cream, Kym luckily tattled and I was able to get it out. I went back to loading the dish washer and Dev started to use it as shampoo. Needless to say I didn't get the kitchen clean and I didn't get any pictures cause I was to busy keep the shaving cream off Dev's head. They had a great time, this I know because Kym threw a huge fit last night when I wouldn't let them do it again.
Conclusion: so much fun but little kids need a whole lot of supervision.

8 years

Yes Lew and I have been married for eight years.

Just thought I would give you a blast from the past. Can you believe it has been eight years? I don't feel old enough to have been married for that long. I scanned the pic's in to my computer so the color is not right. The pictures Chris took look much better.

Christmas gifts

As I stated before I have got most of my Christmas gifts bought. Squeal in delight. The gifts have been hiding in my car trunk for the weekend. So while Kym was at school to day I moved them to my super secret hiding place. Dev was awake and everything was in black garbage bags so she wouldn't see it. But she heard the "every letter makes a sound and A says A". She went from the happiest kid in town to the saddest kid in town the second I shut the door. It was so sad, I went out to get the other bags. When I came back in she was setting by the door (to my super secret hiding place) with the biggest tears rolling down her face, sobbing. It is a good thing I am a heartless mother or I might have been tempted to get it out for her. But I gave her some hugs and distracted her with a shiny object. It only took about five minuets to calm down and not run to the door every time I put her down.
One thing that did make me happy she is going to be one happy little girl come Christmas morning.

Sleeping Beauties

In an attempt to get Kym to stop staying awake until we go to bed and then running to our room we are having her sleep in Dev's room. There is another be but of course Kym can't sleep unless her foot or arm is in some ones face. The problem with this is that they both wake up in middle of the night and so we are one big happy family in our bed. Oh and they are watching sleeping beauty while trying to go to sleep. I know I am a bad parent for letting them watch TV while trying to sleep. But it is working Kym is going to sleep at a better hour and with out all the drink, toilet, I am scared trips.

ARRRRR my holy heart!!!

I thought this hole in my heart thing was going to be a thing of the past but the plot thickens. ARRRRR!! First let me apologize for not blogging about the rest of the two years, life got a little crazy around here.
I did go see the heart Doc and they found that the catheter that I am now sporting (and no it is not that kind of catheter! this one looks like a dumb bell and plugs the hole in my heart.) any ways it did not plug my holy heart. They measure my stroke risk on a level from 1-5 the first time I went in I was a 5+. Yeah I didn't have to have all the other tests they just schedules me for the surgery. The hole is suppose to be closed by the sixth month, I am in the seventh month and still flowing between a 4-5.
My problem now is do I go in and have another catheter put in??? or do I live knowing that my heart is still leaking and take a baby aspirin for the rest of my life???
The Dr said that no one has ever had a debilitating stroke after they had the cath put in and if I start having mine stroke symptoms then go in and have another cath put in.
ARRRRRRR!!!
The other thing they told me I have a slow heart rate. A normal heart rate is 60-100 resting. mine was like 47 the whole time I was getting the test which was about half an hour or so. I don't even know what that means. She told me some long name and then moved on to my holy heart.

Sorry about the rant. I did have a great time shopping and I have most of the kids Christmas. They are not getting that much this year all the sudden everything Kym wants is like 50 buck or more. So she is only getting a few things. Everything we go to buy for Dev we already have. Can I just say ARRRRRR!!!!!

Super hopeless romance

I found a blog (no really I did. Hey this statement might replace "I read some where")

It is a fictional blog about a girl pining after her best friend. It is really good. Follow the link if you are interested in reading an L.D.S romance. If you are like me you will be hooked. http://www.mysuperhopelessromance.blogspot.com/
Hint start in I think it is August and read from the bottom of the page to the top.

Christmas list

I saw this on another blog and thought that it is a great idea.
I would really love it if Danni (hint hint) filled it out. I have her and I don't know what to get her. I would also like Stetsyn and Kort to fill it out although they are easier than killer.

Another hint: fill it out about your self, print it, and happen to put on the seat of your hubby's truck. Or if you are a nice wife you could have your hubby fill it out. ;)

A two year journey comes to an end

Life at the Roundy home is pretty boring at this point in time. I have decided that since tomorrow is the two year anniversary of me finding out about the hole in my heart I would write about all I have learned in the past two years. (it sounds like I have been on a mission) ;)

Most people find out they have a hole in their heart and get it fixed in a few months. But I am special so it took two years.

The story begins: I was about five months pregnant with Devyn at a regular Dr appointment when Dr Mooney asked if I had ever been told I had a heart murmur, in fact I had. Dr Brich and Dr Sanders had both said I had a small murmur when I was pregnant with Kym. They both called it a pregnancy murmur a lot of women have them "your heart is just working harder cause it is pumping blood to the baby." Dr Mooney wanted to get it checked out, cause it was not a small murmur any more. This is the one time that I was thankful I didn't lose the baby weight HAHAHA. Because I was over weight and pregnant my heart was working like crazy.

So November 11, 2006 I went to see the heart Dr. I can not think of his name now. Anyways my Aunt Kaelyn works for him when he comes to Panguitch and Richfield. Lew and I went to the hospital that morning and found out that I was only scheduled for a consultation with Dr _________. Aunt Kaelyn knew that Dr Mooney had wanted me to have an echo cardiogram (echo), she is great, she talked to the nurses and the fit me in right then. The funny thing is Lewis was interviewing at the hospital that day for a job. My appointment was suppose to be later in the day so he could go to the interview and then go with me to the echo. Well when they just fit me in his interview was at the same time as my echo. I know that he didn't do very well on the interview cause he was worried about me. I know this cause he didn't get the job.

One of the nurses listened to my heart "yup sounds like a pregnancy murmur" I remember thinking- "Just a pregnancy murmur, but hey I will get to see my heart. I wish Lew was in here he loves stuff like this." They did the Echo and I have to say they were very professional, next they did a bubble test. A little explaining:

Echo cardiogram- is a ultra sound on the heart (with the echo they couldn't see that I had a hole it looked like a had some loose skin between two of my chambers.

Bubble test- is where they hook you up to an IV and pump some saline into your heart. I know it sounds like something that would kill you, but it didn't. This showed where the hole was and approximately how big.

The nurses had told me that I had a hole in my heart and the Dr would be in shortly to talk to me about it. He came in with two other Dr's. One was an intern and the other was a Dr helping out that day. All three listened to my heart and then he told me that I should thank my Aunt and Dr Mooney cause he would have listened to that and not done the Echo. One of the things I do remember is he kept shaking his head like he couldn't believe that he would have been wrong.

We went into a room and by this time Lew had joined us. The Dr told us a whole bunch of stuff and I can't remember any of it. He told me to call a few months after the baby was born and I would go in and get it fixed. I do remember saying that depending on if it was a PFO or an ASD that would determine how they took care of it. Needless to say I went home scared to death. I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. Oh wait that is exactly what I did.

If this is not boring you to death tune in later for part two of the story.

Anyways so you can see that I am totally addicted to blogs mostly hair and craft sites.

Show and Tell

Question of the day-if you were a preschooler what would you take for show and tell???

My crazy little four year old had show and tell today and decided to take her Nintendo DS (that is the most show and tell worthy thing she has taken in the month since they started showing) But she was not excited about taking the DS. She was ecstatic about taking 5 glittery pipe cleaners. Yes pipe cleaners. She smuggled them into her back pack and I found them when she go home today. I asked her what did you say about the DS? I just showed it and told them about the sticks (as she called the pipe cleaners). What goes through a four year old mind?

Here is a list of other treasures she has taken for show and tell.
a pink bouncing ball (she wanted to take that again today)
a picture she drew
a snow white purse
a comb
her purple dress up dress (that one was a good one too)
a pen

It is fun to see what is important to her and what she finds interesting.

4 tag

Okay so here is my fourth file, it only had three pictures so this is the third one.

06/05/2004 Can you believe that Kymmie was that small? I know the reason she is not happy. She was 1 1/2 months and I was treating her like a doll. I would dress her up take a picture, redress her take a picture. I loved those days of just sitting around holding my new baby and cause my house stayed sorta clean, at least if I put something away it stayed there until Lew or I would move it. Oh I pine for those days, but I will take the messy house if it means I get to keep my babies. Going a little bit crazy cause I didn't know what to do with a baby. Ohhh the good ol' days;)

I am being honest I am getting a little teary thinking about my Kymmie growing up so fast.

carved pumpkin patch in Escalante

Kymmies pumpkin she carved all by her self!!

Devyn's with the help of grandma sunshine.

Mommy did the mummy (mummy mommy HAHAHAH)

Karter did the big one with the help of brittany. It was so cute but my mean devyn kicked it and broke the one piece out. Sorry Karter and britt. Mommy did the glittery one too. It is suppose to be Cinderella's pumpkin turning in to the carriage not a disco ball!!!

Mom and Dev peaking through the fence.

We had so much fun helping with the pumpkin patch. It was also fun to see all the cute idea's. Thanks Jill for letting us help out and thank you for all the hard work you put into it.
